THANKSgiving

I'm thankful for the joy she brings to me every day and how much I learn about life as I live it with her and see it through her eyes. The excitment she gets from a simple balloon or bubbles or taking a bath are so refreshing and a wonderful reminder of how much we have to be grateful for. I'm also blessed with a wonderful family and flying down to Houston to be with all of them (except my older brother and his family) is another reminder of the joys of family and how fortunate I am to have been born in such a strong, loving family. I so enjoy sharing Lexie with them and watching her enrich their lives as well.
She'll run up to Cody, my almost 10 year old nephew, when he comes home from school and hugs him and he'll swing her around. It's so apparent they love each other so much that it brings tears to my eyes. And at Mackenzie's 8th birthday family celebration (she'll have 3 all together before we are done celebration the momentous occasion) after blowing her candles out she turned to Angie and said "Mommy can we light them again so Lexie can blow them out." How generous of her to share her moment with Lexie.
And I don't know how many times this last week I had to ask Brooke to put Lexie down since she wanted to carry her around everywhere she went. Brooke reminded me that she helped Lexie learn to walk last year when we first got home so of course she knows how to walk but she likes to carry her. Sweet, sweet, sweet.
Even one year old Blake wants to be where ever Lexie is. Of course, that may have something to do with the fact that Lexie is playing with a lot of his toys but they really get along well and whenever he ends up falling down Lexie will often be the first one there the pat him on the head and say "better?" and "you okay now." I can't leave out my oldest nephew Casey who came in from his sophomore year of college for a little family R&R. Even as old as he is Casey couldn't resist Lexie's charm. He was a good sport when Lexie would climb up on his lap as he was playing a computer game and he'd let her "help."
Of course Gaga (Aka Grandma) had to have her Lexie fix as well. Lexie helped her set the table and mix up batches of her famous chocolate peppermint candy. And Lexie may be the only grandchild to know what is in mom's secret banana bread receipt that she refuses to share!
So after spending the last 10 days with the family, I just have to say Thank You to the Big Guy for the wonderful family he gave me and the sweet baby he's entrusted to me to create my own family with.
